I didn't hear a thing but my family did, I can look out my window and see the police lights. I don't live in a great neighborhood but this is pretty disturbing.

I hear you. Someone broke into a guy's house two blocks away here in Va. Beach and shot him dead. Not a bad neighborhood, but it convinced me to buy a home defense weapon and not open the door for unannounced visits.

As for the former, just go buy a Glock in 45 ACP, maybe a Springfield XD , with the right ammo you won't have to worry about overpenetrating through walls and whatnot since it's a slow bullet. Those handguns are boring but faultless and the simplest to operate, and have high ammo capacity as well as a reasonable price tag. You do have to go practice every once in a while at the range (I do once a month) to maintain reasonable weapon proficiency.

I just drove past this maybe an hour ago.
Two cop cars, a car was also blocked in by the two officers (On Woodlawn, s of Somerset) and a third officer was roaming around in what looked like the vest from a SWAT kit.
Not cool knowing what was going on now.
